A day after US President Donald Trump eldest son, Donald Trump Jr visited the city, the income tax officials on Thursday conducted a "search operation" in the offices of RDB Group, one of whose firms is a partner of Kolkata Trump Tower Project.
"A search operation is being conducted at offices of RDB Group in Kolkata. The investigation is going on and there were some alleged financial irregularities," an I-T official told IANS.
The RDB Group could not be contacted. Calls to the office number were unreachable.
Trump Jr. was in the city to celebrate the success of Trump Tower, Kolkata which was claimed to be the fastest selling project in India.
Trump Tower Kolkata is developed by Tribeca Developers, Unimark Group and RDB Realty.
