The Indian men's team missed out on the bronze medal as they finished fourth in the rifle 3 positions shooting event of the 17th Asian Games here Saturday.
The Indian team comprising Chain Singh, Sanjeev Rajput and Gagan Narang scored 3480-135x at the Ongnyeon International Shooting Range.
Chain shot 1164-51x (385 in kneeling, 395 in prone and 394 in standing) while Rajput hit 1159-38x (382 in kneeling, 395 in prone and 382 in standing). London Olympic bronze medallist Narang got a score of 1157-46x (386 in kneeling, 395 in prone and 376 in kneeling) but it was not enough to propel India to the podium.
The gold went to China's team of Qinan Zhu, Yifei Cao and Hongwei Kang, who broke the Games record with a score of 3502-179x.
South Korea and Japan won silver and bronze, respectively.
