American basketball team Memphis Grizzlies centre Marc Gasol will try to fast-track his return after he sprained his left knee.
Gasol has to rest his left knee for three to four weeks before he can begin rehab, reports Xinhua. There is no timetable until the team sees how he responds to treatment.
The Spaniard sustained a grade two sprain of the medial collateral ligament in a game against San Antonio Friday.
Kosta Koufos, who has been obtained in an off season trade with the Nuggets, is expected to fill most of Gasol's minutes.
