Damascus, Jan 13 (IANS/AKI) The Islamic State has executed one of its fighters who deserted from the group in eastern Syria, a monitoring group has reported.
IS members brought the alleged deserter's bullet-ridden corpse to his home in Zabian in Deir Ezzor province, the Britain-based Syrian Human Rights Observatory reported.
The unnamed man's body had a note attached to it accusing him of "fighting IS and burning its vehicles", the monitor said.

IS overran Mosul in June 2014 and has made the city its capital in Iraq.
