The Jharkhand government on Friday decided to withdraw Civil Services Aptitude Test (CSAT) from the sixth Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) exam following protests by students and opposition parties, said an official.
"The Jharkhand government has decided to withdraw the CAST from sixth JPSC examination. Now only general studies question will be asked in the exam," the official told IANS.
The official said Chief Minister Raghubar Das gave his approval based on a recommendation by a three-member committee headed by Chief Secretary Rajiv Gauba.
The opposition parties raised the CSAT issue in the monsoon session of the state assembly and the assembly was disrupted on two successive days because of it.
Following protests by students and opposition parties, the state government constituted a three-member committee headed by Gauba.
According to sources, the committee recommended to remove CSAT considering the background of the students of Jharkhand.
