A man from Karnataka, who alighted at Goa's Dabolim International Airport from Qatar, was on Monday arrested for travelling on a forged passport, police said.
Thouseef Hemad Bantwal, a resident of Mangaluru, arrived in Goa from Qatar by a Qatar Airways flight and was on his way to his hometown when he was arrested.
"When he arrived at the immigration desk for clearance, an official inspected his passport and saw that he had replaced his photo and information and was using the identity of one Hargopal Singh," a police spokesperson said.
The man has been booked under the Passport Act and under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code.
