IAS officer D.K.Ravi, posted as Karnataka's additional commissioner, commercial tax, was found dead in his apartment on Monday evening, police said.
"Ravi's body was found in his apartment after he returned from office in the evening around 7 p.m.. We are investigating to find out the cause of his death," a police officer told IANS.
The 36-year-old Ravi, was recently transferred to the state's commercial tax office here from Kolar where he was the deputy commissioner.
Police Commissioner M.N. Reddi, officials of the commercial tax office and lawmakers Ramesh Kumar and Sampangi from Kolar district rushed to Ravi's flat in upscale Koramangala in eastern suburb.
"We are checking his mobile call records, entries in the gated community's reception where his apartment is located and footage of the CCTV cameras located in the area to ascertain who all had visited the place," the officer said.
