Authorities in Bihar's Saran district ordered a probe on Monday after some prisoners organised a 'spring season music programme' inside a jail and invited members of the third genders to dance.
The incident took place on Sunday inside the Chapra jail "for entertainment of prisoners" in violation of the jail manual, officials said.
Saran district magistrate Deepak Anand said he has ordered a probe, and action would be taken against any official if found guilty.
"I have asked district officials to investigate how a vulgar dance was allowed inside the jail and the role of jail officials," he said.
Saran Sub Divisional Officer Qayum Ansari said they have interrogated over a dozen people and detained a member of the third gender to find out how it happened.
