The RSS Monday said the upcoming assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir were a chance to bring back the lost "Kashmiriat" in the state.

"The coming assembly elections is a right chance for all right-minded people to vote and elect the BJP to form a strong and people-friendly government in the hilly state, so that the lost 'Kashmiriat' could be brought back," Indresh Kumar, member of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) national executive, said during the release of a book "Plight of Jammu and Kashmir - The Unknown Files".

Accompanied by Bharatiya Janata Party leader Subramanian Swamy, the RSS leader said Jammu and Kashmir had faced terrorism and separatism, and now the time has come to get "industrialisation, education and India-nisation".

He said the parliamentary resolution where it was declared that every inch of Indian land will be taken back from Pakistan and China must be kept in mind by all parliamentarians and people of the country alike, and efforts should be made to achieve the desired goal.

"Ours is a concept of 'motherland' and the concept of motherland creates history, it inspires, whereas the concept of just land gives the feeling of selling and buying and creates trouble," he said.

He said Pakistan, after losing two wars, has been following a policy of proxy war by invoking terrorism against India.

He rubbished the demand for a plebiscite in Kashmir, saying that when a Hindu majority area Amarkot could go to Pakistan by just signing accession to that country, then why should Jammu and Kashmir, whose Maharaja Hari Singh himself signed the instrument of accession with India, hold this kind of exercise.

"The whole state of Jammu and Kashmir was given to India and every inch of it belongs to us," he asserted.

He also expressed happiness that Hindi, the national language, was being given due importance ever since the BJP came to power at the Centre.
