Fried chicken fast-food chain KFC's first intelligent robot concept store, "Original+", has been launched at the National Convention and Exhibition Centre here.
Sporting a rectangular head and vase-like shaped body, the robot named "Du Mi" helped people order food and make payments, the People's Daily reported on Wednesday.
The robot was smartly attired in a red waistcoat doubling as overalls.
"Du Mi" marks the first commercial use of artificial intelligence in the fast-food industry, sources said.
The artificial intelligence robot was launched by China's leading web services company Baidu duing its World Conference in 2015.
