Kyrgyzstan president to attend Sochi Winter Olympics

Kyrgyzstan President Almazbek Atambayev will attend the opening ceremony of the Sochi Olympics when he visits Russia at the invitation of President Vladimir Putin this month, Xinhua reported.

President Atambayev will make a working visit to Sochi Feb 7, Xinhua reported.

According to the Kyrgyzstan president's press service, President Atambayev is expected to meet the Russian president to discuss progress of implementation of earlier reached agreements between Kyrgyzstan and Russia, and prospects of development of Kyrgyz-Russian bilateral relations. He will attend the opening ceremony of the Sochi 2014 Olympics as well.

Kyrgyzstan will send only one athlete - skier Dmitry Trelevsky - at the upcoming Olympic Games.
