Singer Demi Lovato has hinted that she and Taylor Swift have not got over their differences after the duo were embroiled in a Twitter spat over Kesha's legal battle with Dr. Luke.

Lovato had criticised Swift for donating $250,000 to Kesha to help pay her legal fees but not speaking out about her legal battle and her accusation of sexual assault, reports femalefirst.co.uk.

On her disagreement with Swift, Lovato told fashion, beauty and style website Refinery29: "I'm not going to stop saying what I believe in. I have no problem standing up for myself. Maybe I got it from growing up in Texas, but I never took s**t from anybody".

Lovato, 23, also seemed to throw shade at 26-year-old Swift -- who is an outspoken advocate of feminism -- by stating those who "brand" themselves a feminist shouldn't do so if they don't actively stand up for women's rights.

"Listen, there's nothing positive that comes from pitting women against each other. There are women that I don't get along with, and that's fine. My thing is, don't brand yourself a feminist if you don't do the work. I have an immense amount of respect for women like Lena Dunham ... or Beyonce, who make amazing political statements through their work," she said.
