A 29-year-old man was arrested and produced in court on Tuesday for blackmailing a Kolkata woman with objectionable social media posts and pictures, police said.
Anil Kumar of Jharkhand was arrested on the basis of a complaint filed by a 30-year-old woman residing in Baguiati in July, an official of Bidhannagar Cyber Crime police station said.
He said the man had met the woman on Facebook. He allegedly opened a fake profile using her name and posted objectionable pictures and messages.
"The investigation is going on to find out the exact reason for blackmailing," he said.
