A pedestrian was killed on Tuesday here after a man injured a metrobus driver and hijacked the bus, local authority said.
The whole incident lasted less than three minutes shortly before 11 a.m. local time, Xinhua quoted an officer as saying.
The officer added that the suspect was in custody for stabbing the bus driver.
After the attck, passengers and the driver managed to escape from the bus. Then the suspect took control of the bus and drove it to a gas station where the bus mounted a curb and struck a pedestrian who died shortly after the incident.
Calling the suspect "very distraught and violent," the officer said the incident was "bizarre" and "uncharacteristic" for a person to take a bus and then attack a bus driver.
