A 25-year-old man from Delhi Friday slit his wrist at a public meeting held by AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal - to show his support for the party.

The incident took place outside the Aam Aadmi Party office in Kaushambi here when Kejriwal, who will become Delhi's chief minister Saturday, was holding a 'janta durbar' or public hearing for the third straight day.

Suddenly, the man, identified as Ahmed Zamil, stood up and slit his wrist with a blade.

He said that just as Subhash Chandra Bose had asked people to donate blood in return for freedom, he was doing likewise for Kejriwal, who he claimed would rid India of corruption.

"I am with you and will do anything for you," he told Kejriwal as party volunteers bundled him in a car and took him to a hospital. He was discharged after first aid.
