Manjrekar turns mendicant for 'Deool Banda'

Actor-filmmaker Mahesh Manjrekar will be seen as a mendicant in a Marathi film titled "Deool Banda", co-directed by Pravin Tarde and Pranit Kulkarni.

Doing a cameo in the film, Mahesh will be seen essaying the role of a mendicant for a song.

Mahesh was so enthusiastic about essaying the role that he immersed into the character. He not only gave vital inputs to the character, but also did his own make-up.

"It's a dream come true to work with Manjrekar sir. He has seen me grow in the industry and this is very special for me as my first job in the industry was with Manjrekar sir as an assistant," Tarde, who has worked with the filmmaker in Marathi films like "Rege" and "Kutumb", said in a statement.

The film is scheduled to hit the screens on July 31.
