Argentina footballer Lionel Messi arrived in Chile to join his national team in the run-up to the Copa America which kicks off on Thursday.
The world-class footballer arrived here on Tuesday accompanied by Barcelona teammate and fellow countryman Javier Mascherano after the Spanish club won the Champions League on Saturday against Italian side Juventus. After arriving, the duo immediately left for La Serena to join in their national team which is managed by Tata Martino, reports Xinhua.
Argentina are part of Group B alongside Paraguay, Uruguay and Jamaica. Having not won the tournament since 1993, the team will be hungry for victory. They will kick off their campaign on Saturday against Paraguay in the La Portada Stadium in La Serena.
