Argentine midfielder Emanuel Biancucchi scored twice as Bahia defeated Flamengo 2-1 in Brazil's Serie A championship.
The 26-year-old, a first cousin of Lionel Messi, struck either side of halftime Sunday before former Croatia international Eduardo da Silva pulled one goal back for the visitors on the hour mark, reports Xinhua.
The result at the Arena Fonte Nova lifted Bahia to 14th in the standings while Flamengo dropped to 11th.
Biancucchi's compatriot Hernan Barcos also netted a brace in Gremio's 2-0 victory over Botafogo at Rio's Maracana stadium.
In Curitiba, striker Cleo scored the winner in Atletico Paranaense's 1-0 victory over five-time champions Corinthians.
And Brazil forward Diego Tardelli grabbed his ninth goal of the campaign to help Atletico Mineiro defeat Vitoria 2-0.
