Team MRF's Jan Kopecky (co-driver Pavel Dresler), driving the Skoda Fabia S2000, comfortably won the Rally Hokkaido, the fifth round of the FIA Asia Pacific Rally Championship, here Sunday.
With team-mate Gaurav Gill (Glenn Macneall) having retired Saturday after a crash, European champion Kopecky nursed his overnight lead to win by three minutes, 39.7 seconds while Hiroshi Yanagisawa (Yoshimasa Nakahara) of Cusco Racing in a Subaru WRX STi finished second ahead of team-mate Yuya Sumiyama (Naoki Kase).
The victory helped Kopecky to extended his lead over Gill and move closer to clinching the championship.
