Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday condoled the death of people caused by the derailment of Utkal Express in Uttar Pradesh's Muzaffarnagar district.
"Extremely pained by the derailment of the Utkal Express in Muzaffarnagar. My thoughts are with the families of the deceased," he said in a tweet.
He wished the injured a speedy recovery and said that the entire situation is being monitored by the Railway Ministry.
"Railways Ministry and UP Government are doing everything possible & providing all assistance required in the wake of the train derailment," said Modi in another tweet.
At least 13 people killed and 58 were injured after six coaches of the Utkal Express derailed near Khatauli in Muzzafarnagar at 5.46 p.m.
