Prime Minister Narendra Modi Wednesday visited Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, who is in hospital for a 'routine check-up' following a surgery for diabetes management, sources said.
Modi visited the minister in south Delhi's Max hospital, a day before he leaves for the US.
"The prime minister met Jaitley. The two had some brief confidential discussion," the sources said.
Meanwhile, heavy traffic jams were witnessed on the busy south Delhi roads, as the prime minister visited the ailing minister.
Jaitley has been in hospital since Sunday night.
The finance minister, who also holds the defence portfolio, underwent a surgery for diabetes management Sep 3.
Asked when the minister would be discharged, a doctor treating him said: "It is up to him."
He, however, said Jaitley needed rest.
