The president and joint secretary of the Jawaharlal Nehru University Students' Union (JNUSU) have resigned from their post, after being allegedly named in a case of sexual harassment by a fellow student.
The case of sexual harrasment was filed against president Akbar Chaudhary and joint secretary Sarfaraz Hamid with the varsity's Gender Sensitisation Committee against Sexual Harassment (GSCASH).
The two had resigned on Sunday evening but the students came to know about it only after posters were displayed in the university about them not remaining office bearers.
The case against the two was registered last month. Both had denied the accusations.
