There was an urgent need to address issues like Hepatitis-C and adolescent drug use to prevent spread of HIV/AIDS, experts said Tuesday.

At a two-day meeting of North East Harm Reduction Networks (NEHRN) here, the experts also concluded the draft drug policy needed to be brought in fast.

Activists, recovering drug users, people living with HIV and representatives of NGOs and government departments participated in the programme.

"North East India Harm Reduction Network (NEIHRN) needs visioning exercises to revive and strengthen its partners to compliment and supplement NACP (National AIDS Control Programme) IV," said Aditya Singh, programme officer in department of AIDS control.
