Spanish champions FC Barcelona's star striker Neymar has confirmed that he spoke to English giants Manchester United for a potential transfer before the beginning of the ongoing 2015-16 football season.
The English press earlier reported the news, but few believed that there was an actual possibility of the Brazilian ace leaving Barcelona to play in the English Premier League, reports Xinhua.
However, Neymar has confirmed that he did speak to the English club.
"There were some conversations, but nothing concrete came of it. There were a lot of rumours, but I didn't receive any offers," he said on Thursday.
Although there were no offers, the very fact that one of Barcelona's star players spoke to another club, must be worrying for Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu.
Barcelona are currently negotiating with the Brazilian for a new and improved contract.
Neymar is currently in his third season with Barcelona after arriving in 2013 in a deal which has led to the club facing charges of tax avoidance, forcing former president Sandro Rosell to resign.
The ongoing case will see Rosell and Bartomeu face charges in court.
