Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Thursday expressed condolence over the death of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
"The country has lost the tallest political leader, a charismatic personality, poet, orator, writer and thinker," Nitish Kumar said.
The JD-U leader said Vajpayee was respected by leaders of all political parties despite ideological differences. "Vajpayee always stood to safeguard democratic values," he said.
Nitish Kumar was Railway Minister in Vajpayee's cabinet during the first National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government at the Centre.
