The Delhi High Court on Monday directed the Central government, Delhi University and the city police to ensure no defacement of public property during the upcoming Delhi University Students Union (DUSU) elections.

A bench of Acting Chief Justice Gita Mittal and Justice C. Hari Shankar asked the authorities to give widespread publicity in all the colleges and campus of Delhi University about the penalties for defacement of public property.

The court direction's came when it was informed that the DUSU elections are likely to be held in September.
