On the occasion of International Women's Day, a private institute here on Thursday announced the installation of gender-neutral toilets in its campus.
Indian School of Development Management here installed the toilets, which are also know as all-gender-inclusive toilets.
"I am confident that initiatives like gender-neutral toilets in the campus will inspire students and faculty to respect gender equality in its true manner," Gaurav Shah, Founder and Director, ISDM said in a statement.
According to Shah, these toilets aim to benefit transgenders and people outside the gender binary, and are also apt for specially abled and the elderly.
"It is also beneficial for children who need their parents' assistance," he said.
