The Election Commission Tuesday issued a notification for the first of the five-phase assembly polls in Jammu and Kashmir and Jharkhand.
The first phase in the two states will be held Nov 25.
Polling for 15 seats in Jammu and Kashmir and 13 in Jharkhand will be held in the first phase.
The last date for filing nomination papers for the first phase is Nov 5. The scrutiny of nomination papers would take place Nov 7 while the last date for withdrawals is Nov 10.
Voting for the remaining four phases will take place Dec 2, 9, 14 and 20.
Counting of votes will take place Dec 23.
In all, polling will be held for 81 seats in Jharkhand and 87 in Jammu and Kashmir.
