Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday asked all his ministers to create a yearly work plan to implement the Biju Janata Dal's poll manifesto in next four years.
With the completion of one year in his fourth term as the chief minister on Thursday, he asked the departments to put in place a structure to monitor implementation of the manifesto including independent, third party evaluations.
"During implementation, our focus must always be on the last mile delivery. The benefit must reach the intended person, in a timely and satisfactory manner. Do not always go by the feedback of the bureaucracy alone," he said, addressing his council of ministers.
Besides, he asked the ministers to have a mechanism to cross check directly from the people. "I would appreciate it if ministers make surprise visits and take prompt action," Patnaik said.
