A man was shot dead in clashes between two groups over a girl's harassment in a village in Rajasthan's Alwar district, police said.
According to police, the clashes took place in Thikari village near Kathumar town in Alwar, some 150 km from Jaipur.
"A youth, Nima Singh, was accused of misbehaving with a girl in the village. It triggered a violent clash between two groups of people in the village - one supporting the youth while the other, the girl," said a police officer.
The two groups also exchanged gunfire gunshots after Nima Singh and his uncle Mahendra Kumar opened fire on the other group, the officer said.
Fifty-year-old Siyaram Gujjar sustained bullet injuries and died while undergoing treatment, the officer added.
