Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chairman Imran Khan has asked India and Pakistan to resolve long-standing problems, particularly Kashmir issue, and move forward in developing cordial relations and strengthening trade to alleviate poverty.
There was no other option left for both the countries but to resolve disputes, Dawn online quoted Imran Khan as saying at Lahore airport on his return to Pakistan on Saturday.
"The leaders of both countries should decide they will no more let any element sabotage the peace process for well-being of the poor on both the sides, and other neighbouring countries," he said.
Khan said there were people on both the sides who continue hindering the peace process for their vested interests.
Khan also raised with Prime Minister Narendra Modi the issue of minorities in India.
He also argued that Pakistan and India should continue playing cricket because it brings people on both sides closer and helps reduce tension between the two countries.
Khan regret that India and Pakistan continue blaming each other for the act of terrorism on both the sides.
Urging the two sides to move forward with "larger vision" Khan said China had alleviated poverty through creating peace and strengthening trade.
