Two people were injured when a tigress attacked them at the Ranthambhore National Park in Rajasthan on Thursday.
The attack took place around 6 a.m. in Khandar region in Sawai Madhopur district, over 170 km from here, a forest department official said.
The victims were identified as villagers Satish and Kuldeep. The former was sent to a Jaipur hospital as he needs skin grafting after being pawed near his head.
Thursday's attack is similar to the one of May 8 when a tiger killed a forest guard in his early 50s at the same park.
Besides over 60 tigers including cubs, other wildlife found in the
park include leopard, nilgai, wild boar, sambar, hyena, sloth bear and chital. It is also home to variety of trees birds and reptiles.
Ranthambhore was declared a Project Tiger reserve in 1973 and a national park in 1980. It is spread over 1,300 sq km.
