Singer Liam Payne is reportedly eschewing sleep and spending nights shut away in a north London recording studio trying to finish his new album before his girlfriend Cheryl gives birth.

According to a source to The Sun, Payne, who has moved his studio work from Los Angeles to London, is working hard to get the album done in time to jump straight into parenting duties, reports mirror.co.uk.

"Until that happens he will continue spending as much time in the studio as he can," said a source.

The source added: "It's not ideal right now but it will mean he's completely free to dote on mum and baby when the time quickly comes.

"But it's fair to say he's already completely knackered due to this schedule. People at the studio only see him at night and he locks himself away from 9pm until 4 or 5 in the morning, only taking an occasional cigarette break."

The source also added that "it's fair to say he's already completely knackered due to this schedule. People at the studio only see him at night and he locks himself away from 9pm until 4 or 5 in the morning, only taking an occasional cigarette break."

The 23-year-old One Direction singer started dating Cole about a year ago, confirming their relationship three months later at a charity gala.

Cheryl and Payne met on the set of "The X Factor" Britain in 2008 after he auditioned for the competition series. Two years later, Payne reunited with Cheryl on the show.
