Punjab to launch employment scheme on Sep 5

The Punjab government will launch employment scheme 'Ghar Ghar Rozgar', on September 5 from Mohali, adjoining Chandigarh, a state government spokesman said here on Saturday.

"The launch will be kicked off with an Employers Meet at ISB (Indian School of Business), Mohali, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. to be followed by a state-level Job Fair at GMADA Stadium, Mohali," he said, adding the the 'Employers Meet' will serve as a platform to get insights from the industry and employers on various aspects of employment generation strategies.

"The objective of this initiative is to have wide ranging conversation with the industry directly in exploring the existing opportunities and creating future opportunities for employment," he said.

The spokesman said that the conference will draw employers from different segments - MSME, large and mega-industry and different sectors of industry such as manufacturing, construction, retail, food processing, hospitality and information technology.

The event will have participation from the leading industry experts, including Isher Judge Ahluwalia, the Chairperson, India Council for Research on International Economics), Krish Iyer, the CEO of Walmart India, S.P. Oswal, Chairman, Vardhman Textiles Ltd, Rajinder Gupta, the Chairman, Trident Group, A.S. Mittal, Vice Chairman, Sonalika International Tractors Ltd, Sandeep Jain, Executive Director, Monte Carlo and others.
