Quake jolts Kashmir

A day after a 6.1 quake shook Jammu and Kashmir, the state again experienced tremors from a 5.4 magnitude earthquake on Thursday, an official said. There was no report of any casualty or damage to property.

An official of the state disaster management department told IANS here that the earthquake was felt at 7.38 p.m.

"The epicentre of the earthquake was in Afghanistan-Tajakistan region. The coordinates of the quake were latitude 36.5 degrees north and longitude 71.0 degrees east. The depth was 170 km."
