Megastar Rajinikanth has showered praise on Indian shuttler P.V. Sindhu, who ended her Rio 2016 Olympic campaign by winning a silver medal in the women's singles badminton event.
"Hats off to you P.V. Sindhu. I have become a great fan of yours. Congratulations!" Rajinikanth wrote on his Twitter page.
Sindhu, who has become the first Indian woman to win an individual Olympics silver medal, has made the nation proud, including members of film fraternity here.
Calling her a champion, actor R. Madhavan wrote: "The whole country celebrated with every scream. Thank you for the glory and the pride. Rock on and conquer."
Actor Siddharth saluted Sindhu, and wrote: "What a great day for Indian sport. Young girls and boys everywhere have a new idol. And this one is just getting started."
