Chicago rapper King Louie was reportedly shot in the head in the city's Southwest Side Ashburn neighbourhood. He is alive and recovering.
The incident took place on Wednesday, reports hollywoodreporter.com.
The Chicago Sun-Times newspaper broke the news with confirmation from Louie's management.
Louie -- whose real name is Louis Johnson Jr. -- was shot in his vehicle at around 3:30 p.m.
As per reports, Chicago Police confirmed that a 27-year-old male was shot in his vehicle at that location at that time and brought to Advocate Christ Medical Center in stable condition. It is against Chicago Police policy to disclose or confirm victims' names.
According to Louie's representative, he is "awake and talking" following the incident.
