The Telangana government on Wednesday invited Ratan Tata, chairman emeritus of Tata Sons, to inaugurate T Hub, India's largest technology incubator being set up in Hyderabad.

State Information Technology Minister K. Tarakarama Rao on Wednesday met Tata in Mumbai to invite him to inaugurate the facility coming up at the International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Hyderabad.

T Hub,, the largest centre for start-up and entrepreneurship activities in the country, will be inaugurated next month.

The minister, who was accompanied by IT secretary Jayesh Ranjan, explained about T Hub and also the digital initiatives being undertaken by the state.

"Mr Tata gave valuable suggestions on how this incubator can leverage the presence of pharma, defence & aerospace industry in Hyderabad," tweeted Rao, who is also the son of Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao.

According to the IT minister, Tata praised the vision of the Telangana government for creating an extensive digital infrastructure and steps taken for digital empowerment.

Tata also lauded the state's new industrial policy calling it one of the best he has ever come across anywhere.

KTR, as the minister is popularly known, also called on Anand Mahindra, chairman and managing director of Mahindra Group. The minister later said Mahindra will visit Telangana to discuss potential investments.

"Ideas, Intelligence & Integrity. You have all of the above. Best wishes in the task of building a new state," Mahindra tweeted.

"Touched by your humility Anand Ji. Telangana will need your support and blessing," replied the minister.
