Rome, Dec 20 (IANS/AKI) Italy's former Premier Matteo Renzi will on Wednesday appear on the cover of weekly gossip magazine Chi shopping for Christmas in a supermarket near his native Florence.
Paparazzi caught Renzi off guard at the supermarket in Pontassieve, wearing a trendy quilted grey anorak and pushing a shopping trolley piled with carrier bags and a traditional Christmas Panettone cake.
Renzi was snapped shopping at the supermarket with his wife Agnese and was also spotted last week talking with teachers at his son Emanuele's middle school, Chi reports.
He resigned as Prime Minister earlier this month after a crushing defeat in a key referendum on constitutional reforms aimed at overhauling Italy's political machinery and cutting the cost of its institutions.
