Beijing Olympics bronze medallist pugilist Vijender Singh's decision to turn professional has found place in a book named 'Ringside With Vijender', which was published online on Friday.

Penned by senior journalist Rudraneil Sengupta, the book, published by Juggernaut Books, deals with the boxer's life post his transition to the brutal world of pro boxing.

The Haryana-born turned professional last year and has been so far remained unbeaten in his six bouts. He will make his India debut next Saturday in the WBO Asia Pacific super middleweight championship title bout against Australian Kerry Hope at the Thyagaraj Sports Complex here.

Here the book gives an insight into the 30-year-old's sudden decision to turn pro just an year ahead of the Rio Olympics. It also contains his struggles, changes in his boxing style, training and a peek into his personal life.

"'Ringside With Vijender' by Rudraneil Sengupta does a wonderful job of describing just what I had to do to make that change. It really gets inside the ring and captures my new journey in a way no one has done before," the boxer said.

"My life changed completely when I decided to turn pro. I had to change everything about my boxing, re-learn how to fight all over again. I had to leave my family and friends behind," he added.

The book is available on the Juggernaut app from where readers can download it for free for the next three days.
