Former Argentina international midfielder Juan Roman Riquelme is set to return from injury for Boca Juniors' Copa Libertadores round of 16 first leg against Corinthians Wednesday.
Riquelme suffered a thigh strain in the club's goalless draw against Belgrano in the Final Tournament April 21 and has received daily treatment in a bid to be fit for the clash at the Bombonera stadium in Buenos Aires, reports Xinhua.
The news comes as a welcome boost for Boca, who equalled the worst run in their history with a 0-1 defeat Saturday to Estudiantes, their 10th straight match without victory.
Carlos Bianchi's side is currently third last in the standings with just nine points from 11 matches.
Corinthians, last year's Copa Libertadores and FIFA Club World Cup champions, prepared for Wednesday's duel with a 4-0 victory over Ponte Preta in Brazil's Campeonato Paulista on Sunday.
