After an extended spell of winter, weather across Uttar Pradesh is finally turning warmer. During the first week of March, temperatures have climbed steadily, signalling end of the chill.
The extended cold period came along with heavy and unexpected rain end of February.
A weather official here said temperatures during the first ten days of March have varied between 24.7 and 28 degrees Celsius, both unusually high for the month.
"Lucknow and most parts of the state are warming up for the summer and temperatures during the day as well as night are rising," a meteorological department official told IANS Monday.
J.P. Gupta, regional Met Office director, said in the coming days the mercury would soar up and there would be brief respite in the form of clouds and cool breeze.
