Sourav Kothari-led RKG Snooker Champs became the first team to confirm their entry in the playoffs of the Bengal Premier League here on Friday.
Snooker Champs, a Delhi-based side, got past The Rockets 4-3.
Kothari beat Shahbaaz Khan 72-28 in the first frame and Manish Jain followed it up with a 58-51 verdict over Lucky Vatnani.
Kothari and Benay Agarwala lost their first doubles frame to Vatnani and Shyam Jagtiani and then Jain and Abhishek Kedia faced reversal at the hands of Rockets' Shazbaaz and Mudit Poddar to make it 2-2.
Agarwala and Saif Khan then recorded two consecutive wins in 15Red and 6Red respectively to seal the deal at 4-2. A win in the last frame for Rockets' Vatnani and Shahbaaz over Kothari and Jain proved pointless.
Pappu Penguin, meanwhile, were in great form and secured back-to-back wins to brighten their last-four chances.
Dharminder Lilly, Pappu Penguin's marquee player, gave a good start to the morning session match by defeating Rafath Habib of Black Panthers 72-27. They won 4-3 against Black Panthers.
In their morning outing, the Penguins downed Snookin Shooters 6-1.
Green Warriors also registered 6-1 win over one of the favourite team Alpha Cueists.
