Spain's Tommy Robredo advanced to the third round of the Western and Southern Open with a 6-1, 5-7, 6-3 victory over American Sam Querrey.
The 26th-ranked Robredo was in total control in the early going, but Querrey won a whopping 24 of his 28 service points in the second set to even up the match on Wednesday, reports Efe.
The Spaniard did a better job on return in the final set.
Next up for the 33-year-old will be big-hitting Czech Tomas Berdych, the No. 6 seed, who cruised past Brazil's Thomaz Bellucci 6-2, 6-3 on Tuesday.
In other action on Wednesday involving a Spanish player, Fernando Verdasco was unable to follow up his upset of France's Jo-Wilfried Tsonga with another win, falling 6-4, 7-6 (7-4) to Belgian No. 13 seed David Goffin.
