A Saudi court on Wednesday sentenced 14 citizens to death penalty over terrorism charges.
The court also sentenced nine suspects to jail terms from three to 15 years, Xinhua reported.
The suspects are part of a terrorist cell charged of attacking and killing policemen in Al-Awamiyah village in Qatif region.
Al-Awamiya is among a few districts in Saudi Arabia with high Shia population that represents minority in the Sunni conservative country. The area has been witnessing unrest for past years.
Early in 2014, Saudi Arabia announced the arrest of 135 terrorists for rioting, vandalism and attacks against security forces in Al-Awamiya.
