All schools in Monterey Park, a city beside Los Angeles, were evacuated Thursday morning after police received an anonymous phone call threatening a shooting in an unknown campus.
All schools in the city were locked down and police officers are deployed to all the campuses, Monterey Park police said, reported Xinhua.
The caller said that the shooting would happen at 8 a.m. local time (3 p.m. GMT/8.50 p.m. IST), but no gunman has been seen.
According to local media reports, the phone call was received at about 7:14 a.m. local time and the authorities took preventive actions immediately, including evacuations of the schools and closing of nearby roads.
