Six Colombian drivers will take part in the 2016 Dakar Rally, to be held from January 3 to 16 across Argentina and Bolivia.
The six drivers will participate in several categories. Dakar Rally includes cars, quads, trucks and motorcycles, reports Xinhua.
Juan Manuel Linares will participate in trucks with a vehicle sponsored by "Cafe de Colombia" (Coffee from Colombia). Years before, he had participated on five occasions but in cars.
Linares said that after competing in cars and now in trucks, he expects that in the future he will also take part in motorcycles.
"Dakar is like university and I feel I am still in the first year," said Linares.
Besides Linares, the other Colombians to participate are Juan Esteban Sarmiento, Christian Cajica, Nicolas Robledo, Mauricio Salazar Velasquez and Mauricio Salazar Sierra.
