Veteran Delhi golfer Smriti Mehra, fresh from her win at Srinagar last week, will be the favourite at the 11th leg of the Hero Women's Professional Golf Tour here.
The Rs.5 lakh event will be played at the Delhi Golf Club Sep 24-26. The 11th leg will also see the return of Bangalore's Sharmila Nicollet. Sharmila, the youngest Indian to qualify for the Ladies European Tour, will return to the tour after participating in the recently concluded LET event in Sweden.
Smriti, who managed a stunning win in a three way playoff at Srinagar, will look forward to capture the top spot in the Order of Merit as she is currently placed second with total earnings of Rs.8.15 lakh from four wins in 10 appearances. She currently trails leader Neha Tripathi of Kolkata by Rs.35,900.
The other players to watch out for are local Vani Kapoor and Rookie Shweta Galande, who has impressed many with her consistent finishes.
The tour comprises of 14 legs spanning across India.
