Indore will host the Davis Cup Group I Asia/Oceania first round tie between India and Chinese Taipei from Jan 31 to Feb 2.
The Madhya Pradesh Tennis Association (MPTA) complex in Indore consists of six synthetic flood courts and the association is creating facilities for 3000 fans to witness the event. This will be the first time the state will host the Davis Cup.
"All India Tennis Association (AITA) has decided that the Davis Cup Tie between India and Chinese Taipei will be held at Indore under the aegis of MPTA. AITA is pleased to note that MPTA secretary Anil Dhupar and his team will be holding such a mega event for the first time," AITA secretary general Bharat Oza said in a statement Monday.
