Rio de Janeiro, July 1 (IANS/EFE) Dutch midfielder Wesley Snejder said that he always felt that his team will equalise against Mexico in their World Cup Round of 16 clash Sunday.
Sneijder scored the equaliser in the 88th minute with a fierce shot from a Klaas-Jan Huntelaar header which brought the Netherlands back into the game. Huntelaar then scored from a penalty in injury time to take the team in to the quarter-finals with a 2-1 win, reports EFE.
"After we drew, the team felt it can clinch qualification, it was great to reach the quarter-finals," said Sneijder.
Netherlands will take on Costa Rica in the last eight clash at the Arena Fonte Nova in Salvador July 5.
